Maputaland Guest House is set in the heart of the Isimangaliso Wetland Park and World Heritage Site and is the perfect launch pad for exploring the Park, beaches, reefs and big five game reserves in the area. St Lucia and the Elephant Coast is a veritable feast for bird lovers. Over 500 species have been identified here. The area also home to some 29 Red Data listed birds and sightings of some of the rare birds that are endemic to the area are fairly common.
Visit St Lucia’s un-spoilt beaches and discover the marine world whilst snorkeling and the adventurous there’s Horse riding on the beach & in the reserve.
Hluhluwe & Imfolozi Game Reserve Big Five Safari
African Safari tours to see the big five animals at the Nearby Hluhluwe and Imfolozi Game Reserve’s will leave you breathless. A qualified and professional guide will show you the beauty of the big five in one of South Africa’s oldest and most beautiful game reserves. The safari tour is a full day drive which includes breakfast and a “Safari Bush Braai” for lunch.

Beaches
St Lucia beach, un-spoilt for the most ideal long walks, passing the St Lucia estuary and seeing some of the highest vegetated dunes in Africa.

Night Drives
A tour around the iSimangaliso at night, your guide will try find you our nocturnal animals, hyena, Leopard, bush babies, spotted genets, chameleons, bush pigs etc.

Eastern Shores/Cape Vidal with Snorkeling
Collected from the Guesthouse after breakfast, your guide will show you the beauty and why the iSimangaliso is called the “place of wonder” included in your tour is lunch, refreshments and snorkeling gear.

Whale Watching (In Season)
This ocean adventure is not a pleasure cruise, but an amazing and wet Whale Watching experience launching from the St Lucia beaches with guaranteed sightings. Please enquire as this is a seasonal tour.
Season starts 1st June and ends in November, with each tour lasting around 2 hours.
Turtle Tours (In Season)
Loggerhead and Leatherback Turtle Tours in Cape Vidal. This is a life changing experience. A night drive through the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park takes you to the Cape Vidal beach where your experienced guides set out to find the Loggerhead and Leatherback Turtles laying their eggs in the beach sand. Please enquire as this is a seasonal tour. Times and tours are tide dependent.
Hippo & Croc Cruise
The Hippo and Crocodile St Lucia Estuary cruise is what St Lucia is famous for. Join a charter for a sundowner cruise whilst being spoilt with photographic opportunities of Hippo’s, Crocodiles and the abundance of bird life, especially the Fish Eagle and Goliath Heron.
Horse Riding
With a choice of beach ride, bush ride or a combination of both. The beach ride is tide dependent though.
Regular sightings on the bush ride are Zebra, Impala, warthog and Waterbuck with the duration of the around 2 hours.
